Due to Kwik Trip’s continued growth and success we are adding a Full-Time Collections Specialist.
While best known for our product and service offerings to our 8 million retail guests each week throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, a lesser-known fact is that beautiful La Crosse, WI is home to our ever expanding 140+ acre support campus.
Our La Crosse Campus includes a wide variety of production facilities, distribution center, truck maintenance facility, transportation/logistics, store construction, fuel trading, sales, and pretty much every support department you can imagine a 38,000 co-worker strong organization would have.
Our Credit department has an opportunity for an individual to provide collections support to Kwik Trip.
This highly self-motivated individual will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to the Collections Department while supporting the organization’s values and culture in the process of recovering bad debt.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Assist with all billing/payment/collection aspects of commercial and consumer accounts, drive offs, NSF checks, and miscellaneous receivables while providing quality guest service to all non-cash guests
Receive and make NSF/drive off/Kwik Card related phone calls to collect on bad debt and past due accounts
Assist the department with updating address and account information doe guests and debtors
Review files and prepare for forwarding to collections; process collection file and communicate with collection agencies
Review and process notifications/reprimands for coworkers with bad debt; follow up annually with HR and our Controller on balances
Qualifications: Prior experience(2-4 years) in an accounting related field, specifically collection experience and knowledge of paper check structure and components.
Knowledge of collection laws and the Fair Debt Collection Act is preferred but not required.
This individual must also possess a friendly and outgoing personality and have demonstrated the following in previous employment:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Organized and detail orientated
Possess excellent math skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information into meaningful results
Ability to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Operate personal computers with excellent typing and 10 key punch skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Knowledge of AS400 and/or Bloodhound software systems is a plus.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Typically, Monday through Friday with some Saturday and Sunday shifts as needed.
