Job Summary:
Job Title: Staff Accountant Intern
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports To: Assistant Director of Accounting
As a member of our Accounting team, the Staff Accountant Intern will help assist with various technical accounting and corporate finance activities.
This position will assist with daily journal entries, reconcilations, sales and use tax analysis, investment tracking, and more.
On a quarterly basis, the Staff Accountant Intern will perform close activities including journal entries, supporting workpapers, and reconciliations.
The Staff Accountant Intern will also assist in the publication of financial statements.
This position will work closely with the Finance and Accounting departments on other ad hoc projects.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform quarter-end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement review
Review profit and loss accounts for coding accuracy
Support both internal and external audits
Partner with Operations to ensure all business licensing is current
Assist in sales and use tax analysis and audits
Assist in publication of financial statements for management
Review and revise current procedures and SOPs to ensure best practices
Collaborate closely with other functional departments including Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT
Contribute to departmental focused projects
Perform ad-hoc analyses as requested
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Completed, or currently enrolled in, intermediate accounting courses (200 level)
Minimum of 15 working hours per week required
Understanding of financial systems, processes, and enhancements
Attention to detail with a strong technology aptitude
Self-starter, independent thinker with high level of professionalism
Ability to effectively manage time and complete multiple tasks, while continually meeting critical deadlines and responding to changing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Staff Accountant Intern is an hourly position with a minimum requirement of 15 working hours per week.
Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
Travel up to 10% of the time to our Green Bay Support Office and/or store locations.
