Payment Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:
* Assist with payment issues, including Inclearings, Automated Clearing House (ACH), Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs), Automated Transfer Allocations (ATAs), incoming or outgoing wires and have knowledge of fees relating to these items
* Assist with various balancing duties to reconcile payment related items
* Process Shared Draft transaction, ACH transactions, online and mobile banking transactions
* Work daily with the Federal Reserve Bank regarding ACH originations, returns, inclearing returns, and incoming and outgoing wires.
* Process Debit Card transactions
* Work together with other departments on trouble shooting and solving any issues with vendors or products that affect multiple business units
* Ability to handle stressful situations as the occur throughout the Credit Union
Qualified candidates will be required to have a High School diploma, GED or HSED and an Associate degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
In lieu of a degree, current Altra employees will be considered if they have at least two years of Altra experience.
A minimum two (2) years of financial institution experience is required, and basic knowledge of Electronic Funds Transfers (ACH) rules and accounting knowledge is required.
Must have excellent organizational skills, good computer keyboard and math skills and some experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook email).
Must have the ability to work with member business payroll personnel in a professional manner over the phone and in email conversations.
This position is full time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday during the operating hours of 8:30 a.
m.
to 5:30 p.
m.
The position is located at the Operations Center in Onalaska, WI, however, telecommuting / work from home decisions will be considered for the hired applicant.

Experience Required
