This position will work on-site.
This position is responsible for understanding and assisting in maintaining various banking applications.
Duties involve set up and implementation of banking products that integrate with the core banking application.
Will also be responsible for testing, upgrades, providing user support, and working with vendors.
Must have knowledge of banking terminology, processes, and information technology principles.
Must have strong communication skills and the analytical ability to evaluate issues and troubleshoot.
Strong Microsoft Office experience required.
A college degree desired and/or equivalent related work experience.

General Summary • This position will be responsible for understanding and assisting in maintaining various banking applications within the Information Technology department.
• Solid understanding of the core banking application.
• Implement and setup of ancillary banking products that integrate with the core banking application.
• Participation in the upgrade, testing and support of the core banking application and the systems that integrate with this system.
• Provide support to end users as issues and questions arise.
• Research, analyze and report issues to vendor to provide or recommend the best resolution.
• Working knowledge of Computer Operations daily duties to provide support and back up on as needed basis.
• Projects and ongoing support will be performed in a teamwork environment.
• Perform additional Information System tasks or special requests as directed by the supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Comprehensive understanding of various Subsystems within the Signature application (core banking application).
This will include knowledge of the database used on the Core banking system.
• Understand and support the integration between the various banking applications to the core processing system.
• Understand and support the beginning to end processes for the daily core banking application.
• Provide assistance with various upgrades and learn new processes (systems) when applicable.
• Collection and documentation of application and/or system problem details to analyze issues from end users to resolve the issue.
This may include working with staff from across the bank and/or with vendors.
• Strong understanding of ACH processes to provide support to end users and business customers.
This will also involve knowledge of the ACH rules.
• Strong understanding of and ability to assist in year-end processing.
This will include knowledge of the year-end reporting as dictated by IRS regulations.
• Working in collaboration with others in the department, end users and third-party vendor(s) to assist in project planning, evaluation, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the enterprise-wide core banking and systems that integrate with the core banking application.
• Participate in the various User Group meetings for the banking applications supported in Information Technology.
• Assist with Administrative duties for various applications that interface to the Core banking application.
Part of the process will include helping to administer end user security.
• Communicate with the appropriate departments regarding changes to new and current processes.
• Cross-train with other areas of IT to provide assistance during periods of high demand, illness, vacation, or other absence.
• Assist with disaster recovery testing and recovery operations and provide feedback for area of concerns and suggest improvements.
• Follow predefined processes to ensure the department maintains compliance as defined by regulation.
• Perform additional Information Systems tasks or special requests as directed by supervisor.
• As directed by the VP Core Systems, provide support to the IT staff for after-hours operations.
• In collaboration of the overall end user security process, periodic review of user access for predetermined list of applications by role.
• Employee will be expected to contribute to a positive working environment through words and actions.
• Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Employee may be asked to perform other duties as required by business needs.
• Employee will be expected to complete compliance and product knowledge assignments in a timely manner.
Education and Experience: • College or technical degree desired • 4 years related working experience desired Skills and Abilities Required: • Solid knowledge of banking terminology and processes • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of banking systems, products, and services.
• Knowledge of DB2, file transfers and query • Knowledge of information technology principles and practices.
• Understanding of banking and general computer terminology for proper communication between end users and department personnel.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with employees throughout the organization.
• Basic knowledge of Window servers.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate issues and troubleshoot various applications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
Non-technical Skills and Abilities Required: • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required with end users, department personnel and third-party vendors.
• Friendly, outgoing, and self-confident with a high level of patience.
• Self-motivated with the desire and ability to ensure requests and completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Good aptitude and a driving interest in information technologies and systems.
• Must be capable of quickly learning and comprehending new concepts and technologies.
• Ability to communicate with non-technical staff in a non-threatening and understandable manner.
• Self-motivated individual that works well with a team or individually as necessary.
Working Conditions: • Little or no discomfort caused by environmental factors.
• Some exposure to mental/visual fatigue.
• Occasional high stress situations will occur when computer down-time occurs, or during software implementations and software updates.
