*SUMMARY*
Provide administrative support to accounting staff and maintain financial records in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
*REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles, practices, and methods.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong keyboarding, math and calculator skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
*PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Associate’s degree in accounting or related area or two or more years accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
None
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include but are not limited to the following:
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as the general ledger and documenting business transactions.
Process cash receipts, preparing cash ledger entry and daily bank deposit.
Perform general accounting duties, including spreadsheets, general ledger entry, process invoices for payment and account reconciliation.
Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
Process transactions related to capital credits, review and process requests for settlements and transfers, update membership information, answer inquiries regarding memberships.
Collect, prepare and submit necessary data for reporting to federal, state and local entities such as 911 reports, franchise tax and others as requested.
Provide general administrative support as requested.
