The City of La Crosse is currently accepting applications for the *LA CROSSE REGIONAL AIRPORT (LSE) DIRECTOR*.
The purpose of this position is to plan and direct the strategic development, tactical implementation and long-range planning of LSE while providing a financially efficient, safe and convenient environment for public and private air travel and related business activities.
The Director of LSE is considered a City executive by Common Council resolution and performs administrative level responsibilities at the Airport for the City.
This position is appointed by the Aviation Board subject to confirmation by the full Common Council and is responsible to the Aviation Board, Mayor, and Common Council.
The employee works under the general direction of the Mayor and is required to make complex judgments and decisions.
Incumbents shall plan, direct, and supervise the day-to-day activities of LSE while ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operations of all airport users.
Ensures day to day activities are performed within the regulatory requirements with a focused attention on safety, security, business operations, financial constraints and longer-term strategic plan accomplishments.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Business, Economics, Law or Public Administration with six (6) years of related Airport experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
A master’s degree is preferred.
Certified Member of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) or AAE designation must be obtained within one year of hire.
Candidates must be able to pass a rigorous criminal history records and background check to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Area (SIDA) badge; have the ability to acquire and maintain Federal Level secret level security clearance; and possess a valid driver’s license.
Hiring salary range for this exempt position is $118,310.
40 to $135,491.
20 with a top range of $155,168.
00 (salary commensurate with qualifications).
