As a Nurse Technician, you will work on a direct care team serving our diverse resident population with dementia diagnosis at Hillview Health Care Center.

*Shift: Day Shift or PM Shift available! *Saturday & Sunday shifts every other weekend, and additional hours are open during the week! Staff also work a holiday rotation.
* Day Shift: 6:30 AM to 3 PM
* PM Shift: 2:30 PM to 11 PM
*Wage:* $20.

73/hr for hours worked between 5 pm & 10 pm; $24.
23/hr on weekends with differentials!
* As part of nursing care team, assists in formulating and carrying out a plan of care that meets the residents' holistic needs in accordance with nursing home policies and procedures.
* Under supervision of a registered nurse, provides direct nursing care including administering medications and treatments.
* Provides for the safety and well being of the resident in accordance with nursing home policies and procedures.
* Serves as liaison between resident and RN in charge of residents care.
Communicates appropriate resident information to RN.
* Carries out physician's orders under the direction of a RN.
Seeks clarification when communication/directions are not clear.
* Carries out assigned duties promptly, safely and accurately.
* Seeks appropriate assistance in solving clinical problems.
* Employee is expected to report to work when scheduled, with minimum use of sick leave, to build up sick leave balance for income protection for unexpected illness.
* In this public service position, employee is required to be courteous, cooperative and respectful at all times, with the public and clients.
Establishes and maintains a courteous, cooperative and respectful working relationship with other employees, supervisors and public officials.
* Works safely and follows safety practices and standards of the facility; responsible for reporting or correcting any existing or potential safety or accident hazard.
* Maintains residents' rights and confidentiality of resident information; reports all suspected cases of resident abuse to the supervisor immediately.
*Requirements:*
* Requires nursing student who either is currently enrolled and actively taking nursing courses (no break of more than one year between nursing courses) in a nursing program leading to Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and has completed a pharmacology/medication administration course, _or_ who has failed the licensure exam and is awaiting a retake of the exam, pursuant to the requirements of the Wisconsin Administrative Code and Bureau of Quality Assurance BQA-01-021.
* Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and on the Wisconsin State Registry.
* Must maintain documented 12 hours annual in-service education required for CNA.
* Must successfully pass a background check as required by Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
* Nursing student must maintain passing grades in all nursing classes.
After graduation from an accredited nursing program, the graduate nurse must pass the state licensure exam within six months to continue in the nurse technician role.
* Must maintain CPR certification.
