The Department of Corrections is recruiting to fill a Financial Specialist - Advanced position.
This position is based out of Jackson Correctional Institution (Black River Falls, Jackson County) .

Position Summary This position provides complex accounting, auditing, and bookkeeping oversight for multiple programs and funding sources at the Jackson Correctional Institution (JCI).
This position audits and reviews financial transactions including cost allocation patterns for general institution operations, federal grants, gifts, donations, inmate accounts including inmate legal and general loans, revenue generating programs, and stores and canteen operations.
Prepare reports and balances accounts for inmate legal loans and inmate general loans.
In addition, this position assists in the management of the store inventory and reconciling receipts and issues, and oversees JCI Inmate Trust funds receipts and disbursements.
This position will act as lead worker to the Financial Specialist positions in the JCI business office; these staff are responsible for the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of a wide variety of fiscal transactions.
This position will prepare and create financial reports such as balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and other reports for the operation of the institution canteen and accounts receivable ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, the Department of Administration (DOA), and the Department of Corrections (DOC) internal controls and policies/procedures.
Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 02-15 and offers a starting pay rate of $29.
00/hour .
Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.
Remote work options not available for these positions.
This position is FLSA Non-Exempt.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Normal schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM with forty-five minutes for lunch.
