This position is based out of New Lisbon Correctional Institution (New Lisbon, Juneau County) .

Position Summary The Institution Physician is responsible for providing professional medical services to persons in our care, diagnosing and treating illness and injuries and arranging for professional consultation when warranted.
This position supervises, in conjunction with the Health Service Manager, the development and implementation of treatment protocols and patient flow charts.
With the Health Services Manager, meets as appropriate with the Institution Warden, Supervisors of Psychological Services, Security or Medical Director in formulating medical policies, operational procedures and implementation of these policies at the unit level.
This position also participates in the Quality Improvement Program and Infection Control Program and provides direct care at other institutions during vacations, illness, or emergencies, as directed.
Takes on-call assignments as directed by the Bureau.
Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 10-51 with pay starting from $97.
01/hour to $118.
78/hour or $201,780 to $247,062/year .
Board Certified Physicians may earn supplemental pay of up to $21.
00/hr (for maximum effective salary of $290,742/year ), while those that are eligible but not yet certified may earn up to $7.
00/hr (for maximum effective salary of $261,622/year ), depending on the area of certification/eligibility.
Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
