*POSITION: Vehicle Specialist*
· Wage: $17.
25 per hour · Hours: Approx.
4 hours/week; Flexibility in scheduling · Start Date: Training to begin as soon as possible HCO is seeking a Vehicle Specialist looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others by joining our dedicated team.
This position allows independence and the ability to create your own schedule.
The position requires on average 4 hours per week, in addition to being on-call for vehicle accidents (approx.
1-4 times per year).
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and monitoring is required.

Respond to accidents and oversee completion of accident reporting.
Respond to day-to-day vehicle maintenance and repair needs as directed by the Accounting and Project Coordinator and other agency supervisors.
*ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP:* 1.
Responsible to the Executive Director.

Work directly under the supervision of the Accounting and Project Coordinator.
3.
Work cooperatively with employees throughout the agency.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Must have flexibility to respond to the needs of agency.
* Must have a good general knowledge of vehicles.
* The position requires the physical capability of lifting, climbing into and out of a variety of vehicles and skills to perform vehicle cleaning duties both interior and exterior.
* Must have skill and competence maintaining an accurate log book for each agency vehicle.
* Must have great time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects.
* Must be able to work independently and interact well with others.
* Must be respectful of other agency team members, clients, and community members time.
* Must pass a criminal background study.
* Must be an eligible driver for the agency.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* · Must have the ability to respond to and provide guidance to operational situations.
· Must be able to move about and travel to program sites, given reasonable accommodations.
· Responding to agency needs by having a full range of communication abilities (hearing and vision).
· Reading and writing printed material related to the job.
· Must be able to use a computer and develop written correspondence efficiently.
· Must be able to drive agency vehicles.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:* *I.
Maintaining Agency Vehicles:* 1.
Keep an agenda/history log for each vehicle documenting routine maintenance and major repairs.
2.
Ensure all agency vehicles are kept in compliance with state and federal standards.
3.
Coordinate care and maintenance for all agency vehicles to include but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, routine cleaning, and major repairs.
*II.
Accident Response and Reporting* 1.
Ensure there is an accident reporting packet in each vehicle.
2.
Coordinate accident follow up including pricing, repair, and transportation of un-drivable vehicles when necessary.
3.
Oversee completion of the accident reporting process to ensure accuracy.
4.
Develop photos from accident and provide them in the agency accident report 5.
Work with the Executive Director or program supervisor in reporting accidents to our insurance agency.
*III.
Administrative:* 1.
Monitor program transportation needs and make recommendations for vehicles with these in mind 2.
Monitor agency’s vehicle fleet and make recommendations for when replacements should be considered or needed.
3.
Work with vehicle dealerships and private parties to purchase vehicles that meet the needs of the agency.
4.
Educate dealerships on agency needs.
5.
Work with repair shops to determine what repairs are needed when vehicles malfunction, are involved in an accident, or are flagged with a correction order during inspection.
6.
Train employees on vehicle safety, accident reporting, and general vehicle maintenance.
7.
Maintain compliance with the agencies HIPAA policy, Mandated Reporting Policy, and OSHA practices.
8.
Attend agency training to meet the requirements of the agency.
9.
Assist with agency vehicle trainings as requested.
10.
Take on other duties as assigned.
