Summary of Role The Intake Specialist is responsible for receiving and loading raw milk and cream.
This role conducts laboratory testing of milk, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment.
This is a safety sensitive role.
The Creamery is open 365 days a year including holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform and record raw milk laboratory tests to determine if load meets CROPP specifications prior to unloading and loading.
Seal or unseal trucks and verify the wash tags as appropriate.
Receive and/or load raw milk.
Operate automated CIP system to clean raw milk silos, milk receiving supply lines and tankers.
Scan and file receiving paperwork.
Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance policies and practices.
Work with HTST personnel to ensure proper RAW silo rotations.
Operate cream steamer for the unloading cream process.
Completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sanitation items.
Record appropriate data regarding loads, quality testing, and sanitation.
This includes DOORS entries, sanitation logs, chart recorders, etc.
Maintain chart recorders, including changing charts and pens.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Assist with general plant cleaning as needed.
Follow all record keeping requirements accurately.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to work 12 hour shift, including overtime, weekend and holiday work.
Ability to obtain certification on the Charm Phosphates Test Method.
Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures.
Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds and ability to push/pull objects up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb truck manways and work at heights with appropriate personal protective equipment.
Ability to interpret and understand results of official samples.
Ability to work safely with required sanitation and lab chemicals while using appropriate PPE.
Effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings.
Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner.
Basic math skills including arithmetic and the ability to perform and interpret basic calculations.
Basic understanding of machine operations.
Basic computer skills are required.
Base hourly wage range: $20.
00 - $26.
13 per hour The typical hourly wage for a new hire with no experience is $20.
00 exclusive of fringe benefits.
This position also receives a $1.
00 per hour shift premium when working on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
