Sanitation Operator

*Summary/Objective * The sanitation worker maintains production areas, warehouses, and grounds by providing custodial services related to food safety and hygiene.
The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits.

1.
Comply with Mill Haven Foods SOP's and GMP's.
2.
Responsible for thorough follow through of cleaning assignments, to include but not limited to; charging areas, outside perimeter, production (dump room, bagging room), shipping/receiving warehouses, and cleaning the forklifts.
Sweeping, vacuuming, and operating the floor scrubber.
3.
Maintain plant accessibility and appearance by picking up trash and transporting to disposal area.
4.
Maintain cleaning inventory by checking stock level and anticipating cleaning equipment replacement.
5.
Communicate with maintenance manager on a daily basis.
6.
Prepare for and participate in all audits and inspections.

*Work Environment* Performing the duties of this job include: contact with dry dairy products, frequent exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and some outdoor exposure.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
The employee frequently is required to go up/down stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The position involves standing, bending, and lifting 55 pounds.
*Travel* No travel is expected for this position.
*Education and Experience* Required: High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: Previous sanitation experience.
