Our Support Center located in La Crosse WI, has an opportunity for a full-time Store Engineering/IoT Platform Developer.
In this role, you will work with an IT Business Analyst to identify opportunities to integrate and automate with retail-facing assets.
You will be responsible for design and development of hardware and software integrations to Kwik Trip’s IoT Platform.
This position works alongside Store Engineering and other technical resources within the Information Technology group.
Accordingly, you will help drive highly visible initiatives across the organization including building and supporting new and existing IoT integrations.
Regular tasks include:
Assist and support in the implementation process for current and upcoming Store Engineering IoT initiatives.
Assist with the planning of integration changes, development, and enhancements.
Work cross-functionally with IT, Store Engineering, and other key stakeholders
Build customized solutions that support business requirements and drive important business decisions.
Develop custom automations and integrations with other systems.
Create and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Review, document, and solve issues reported by end users regarding system integrations on the IoT Platform.
Coordinate and work with full stack development team on development work within the specific IoT Platform and its integrations.
Day-to-day troubleshooting, discovery, and problem solving required with bespoke integrations, products, and software solutions.
Initial focus will be on continuing the rollout of Fuel Dispenser alarm ingestion within the IoT Platform.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field and 1-3+ years of experience in a software development, IT, or a related field.
OR a minimum of 4+ years of experience in developing scripts and managing automations.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience in data tables, manipulation, and processing across multiple systems
Knowledge of software development processes and best practices (SCRUM/Agile)
Preferred qualifications include:
Previous experience with managing and deploying IoT Solutions is a plus, but not required.
Experience with Postman, SoupUI and/or similar tools
In depth knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs with the ability to read JSON payloads and understand API responses
Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, C#, Bash, and .
NET
Experience in building automation scripts
Ability to read log files and troubleshoot technical issues.
Ability to build and comprehend complex SQL queries.
Understanding of network and software communication protocols (SNMP, Modbus, BACNet, APIs)
Network and Security experience is a plus, but not required.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
