Program Overview & Location Are you a driven and talented individual looking for the place to do your best work while developing into an impactful leader? Look no further than the Acuity Brands Internship Program! The Acuity Brands Internship Program is a 10–12-week experience (May – August, 40 hours/week) designed to develop high-potential candidates into marketing leaders through hands-on experiences that connect interns’ strengths and interests with the needs of the business.
In addition to making an impact through your participation in key projects and transformative processes, you will have an opportunity to mentor and network with leaders throughout Acuity Brands.
It is preferred for interns to only have one or two semesters left in their degree program, so they can be considered for our Leadership Program immediately following the completion of the internship.
Our Leadership Program is a full-time, entry level rotational program that allows recent graduates to explore different areas within a functional area.
These experiences allow young talent to grow their skill set and network within the company while figuring out what they are passionate about early on in their careers.
This role works onsite in Winona, MN.
Primary Responsibilities While specific projects and activities vary during your internship, you can expect to: Implement Lean manufacturing tools in assembly cells to improve productivity.
5S cells - Establish 2bin system, label each bin and bin location, tool locations etc.
5S - Create shadow foam boards for tools.
Upgrade cell Layouts to improve POU, create one piece flow and reduce wastes.
Conduct time studies to create/update SW documentation, CTQ’s.
Integrate traceability system capabilities to the Smart EOL testers.
Space consolidation projects to optimize production space and increase production floor footprint for projected future business.
Participate in Kaizen Events Work with Manufacturing Engineers and provide support on productivity improvement projects.
Training on PDS process and Support New Product Introductions.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers to create capacity plan in each area.
Projects on OOB quality claims reduction: Collect the data from dashboard and analyze it.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers to create impactful action plans (RCCM) to address OOB quality claims.
Measure and Analyze Internal Quality Issues.
Qualifications In addition to pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering (or a related field) from an accredited college or university, qualified interns will have: Relevant internship or project experience A minimum GPA of 3.
0 Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven problem-solving capabilities.
