Job Summary:
As a Software Engineer you will join our Commercial HVAC business unit, focusing on a flagship proprietary software that Trane offers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is in the process of revamping a long-standing successful technology and the person in this role will help us shape the direction of future offerings.
This position will require someone that thrives in a team environment, creating solutions for challenging customer driven business needs.
This role will be responsible for developing structured and verified software to meet customer needs.
You will work closely partnering with other software, and project engineers as well as with our technical support, development, and product teams.
Responsibilities:
Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
Track bugs and investigates problem areas.
Conduct code review sessions
Write code (Java Script; C#; .
Net).
Ensure the primary software interacts with other existing applications
Translate code and logic
Maintain a cloud-based simulator (Python, Node.
JS, and AWS)
Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or related technical discipline)
5 years of object-oriented software design experience is required.
Ideally, you would also be familiar with one or more of the following:
Microsoft .
NET development (C#) experience.
Web browser-based development experience (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML/XSLT).
WinForms and/or WPF.
Web exposure using object-oriented design and implementation is desirable.
User Interface Design: Experience with User centered design, GUI & web page design, prototyping, and usability testing.
Experience with Node.
JS, Python, and AWS.
HVAC equipment controls and system knowledge a plus.

Base Compensation Range is $60,000 to $106,550
