Job Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of our enterprise network infrastructure, which includes both local and remote networks across City Brewery’s facilities.
Under the direction of the IT Network Manager, this position will join our Network and System Administration team and be responsible for network monitoring, security, configuration, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
The Network Administrator will play a key role supporting City Brewery’s Digital Transformation plans by ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s network infrastructure.
To accommodate the increasing demands of the digital transformation the Network Administrator is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing a network that can scale efficiently.
This includes expanding network capacity, adding new devices, and supporting increased traffic.
Working closely with our security team, you will also be tasked with implementing best practice security measures to support the increasing need for integration of IoT devices, cloud services and remote access to support growing business needs.
The Network Administrator must also proactively monitor the network to detect and address issues ensuring minimal downtime and high availability in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Monitoring network performance; proactively identifying and resolving issues
Performing maintenance and upgrades to keep the network infrastructure up to date
Administering the operation of all LAN/WAN related services according to best practices and company standards
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including access points, switches, routers, DNS and DHCP
Performing network design and capacity planning
Work closely with Security team to implement network security protocols; including LAN/WAN security and conducting regular security assessments to address vulnerabilities
Managing network backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure continuity
Creating and maintaining documentation of network diagrams, configurations, processes and procedures
Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Coordinates all changes and updates with stakeholders
Utilize helpdesk software, provide all levels network support
Maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently
Works with vendors to resolve incidents and escalates to IT/CBC management when appropriate
Assist in on-site hardware troubleshooting
Participate in Tier 2 on-call rotation and server patching rotation
Assist in on-site hardware troubleshooting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar Network Administrator or Systems Administrator role; equivalent combination of education/work experience/military leadership will also be considered
Certification in network administration (CCNA, CompTIA Network+)
Must have demonstrated ability to function within a team and have led/mentored others
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Intermediate PC and server hardware experience
Detail-oriented with a commitment to documentation and best practices
Must have strong working knowledge of:
Configuration and maintenance of enterprise grade access points, switches, routers and firewalls.
(Aruba, Cisco, FortiGate)
Network Protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, STP, iSCSI and VPN.
Network Monitoring Tools
Familiarity with network security principles and best practices
