Join Trane Commercial as an Electrical Designer I! As an Electrical Designer I, you will be responsible for designing the control and power electrical systems within Trane’s Arctic product line.
This role will include electrical product development and design-to-order electrical schematics and modeling.
This is a great opportunity to see your designs through to production release!
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our La Crosse, WI location.
Responsibilities
Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
Documentation of parts and bills of materials.
Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods, and processes.
Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings, and sketches.
Ability to lead small segments of projects with responsibility for completion of assignments.
Exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems.
Detects and corrects own errors.
Grow competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
Must be customer driven, innovative and quality minded in performance of all assigned duties.
Develop and exercise good communication skills.
Maintains awareness and adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from engineers or senior staff.
Work direction, content and accuracy reviewed by engineers or senior department members.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic design from an accredited technical school.
Internship or some practical application of skill preferred.
Alternatively, at least 1 year of practical CAD experience with acceptable references.
Understands basic principles of designing equipment, drafting and computer aided design and applies principles to assigned tasks.
Working knowledge of computer aided graphic system.
May be required to travel to various locations to support products.
Expected overnight travel approximately 2-5 days a year.
Key Competencies
Function and contribute in a technical engineering “team” environment.
Electrical Knowledge
Some selection of components and materials
Electrical Schematic understanding.
PTC Creo skillset preferred.
AutoCAD or Solidworks skills a plus
Base Pay Range: $39,000 – 56,400
