Position in this function is responsible for the design, implementation and support of OptumServe infrastructure including virtualization, storage, data security, terminal services and modernization.
This position partners with the Engineering and Architecture team up to 50% of the time on new project and implementation work driven by business requirements.

Primary Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, educate, and grow the technology capabilities of the Hosting and Storage team by providing current and future state technology overview and education Provide 3rd level support of Hosting and Storage technologists Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of Hosting and Storage documentation Develop new and improve existing processes and procedures as it relates to maintenance, automation, system testing, and functional validation Lead maintenance and enhancement projects for NAS/SAN, virtualization, backup, Cisco UCS, Dell Servers, Microsoft Azure, and other technologies Storage Technologies include Dell EMC PowerMax, PowerStore, Isilon, NetApp, S3 and PureStorage Design and build Microsoft Azure cloud environments to support OptumServe’s current and future contracts Partner with Engineering and Architecture team in executing technology assessments, evaluations, proof of concept and recommendations of products and services that achieve and maintain OptumServe's infrastructure goals Partner with the Engineering and Architecture team to define, design and implement technology projects that grow infrastructure capabilities and adhere to required standards and business needs All other tasks as assigned You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or 10+ years of experience as a systems administrator 6+ years of experience as a storage administrator working with Dell EMC storage technologies: Isilon, PowerMax, and PowerStore Experience working with technical vendors Knowledge of data communications standards and implementations Solid understanding of IT operations and their related dependencies An understanding of end to end system dependencies (Infrastructure, System, Data, Telecom, Desktop, Mobile) to the resulting contract outcomes Proficient Microsoft Software Suite skills Proven solid interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present, persuade and provide professional presentation materials to both large and small groups Proven excellent teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to work independently Proven ability to coach, inspire, and lead IT professionals across multiple disciplines Proven organizational skills, project and time management, as well as follow thorough and attention to detail Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills Proven ability to be take initiative to fix or enhanced IT systems without being directed to do so United States Citizenship Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86 Preferred Qualifications: Certifications on related Microsoft, Cisco, EMC NetApp, Azure and other Technologies ITIL or other ITSM framework certification DOD/VA/Military clearances Experience administrating additional storage technologies: NetApp, PureStorage, and MinIO S3 Experience with designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure environment DOD/VA/Military experience As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.

citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC).
Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.
NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.
Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.
Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300 per year.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
