Job Summary: The Maintenance Planning Specialist is responsible for ensuring asset availability and reliability at the lowest cost.
Scheduling routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance throughout our facilities, using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Tasks include generating work orders and creating schedules; maintaining records of work history; working with OEMs for the anticipated life cycle of asset and parts, working with plant leaders, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and the Production Scheduling department to schedule regular maintenance on all machines.
Procuring necessary parts and tooling for operational assets, maintaining an inventory of parts, creating procedural manuals, and developing manuals that cover maintenance and training.
The Maintenance Planning Specialist will look for opportunities to understand points of failure and eliminate chronic maintenance and facility needs, increasing efficiency across the entire organization and work directly with our external machine manufacturers and contractors to schedule necessary events to improve the uptime of Inland’s assets and reliability of necessary facility infrastructure.

Schedule maintenance activities across multiple facilities using CMMS.
Ensure quality data collection exists for Maintenance and Facility repairs.
Work directly with Machine manufacturers on establishing life cycle awareness and planning for Inland assets.
Organize spare parts inventories to prepare for emergency or preventative maintenance needs.
Foster a culture of safety awareness through correct maintenance processes.
Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in alignment with the organization’s Operations and maintenance goals.
Lead communication between maintenance, operations, and scheduling of maintenance work to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality service.
Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce the time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules.
Designs, analyzes, evaluates, implements, and manages maintenance performance metrics to improve the facility’s operation and maintenance programs.
This includes forecasting, monitoring, and analyzing the use of departmental physical and human resources.
Leads discussion around the collection and analysis of CMMS and departmental KPI data for operational and financial decisions.
Generate reports regarding Asset life cycle, costs, and obsolescence to plan for repair, upgrade, or replacement.
Assists Maintenance Manager with generating reports to support team and individual performance measurements in according to department KPI’s and goal.
Assist the Maintenance Manager with conducting analysis on spending, for the monthly forecast review by managing the optimal stock of spare parts and materials.
Analyze and evaluate (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness CMMS system.
Develop life cycle cost analyses of assets by performing cost benefit or economic evaluations of current assets.
Advise on the distribution of work among positions and organizations and the appropriate staffing levels and skills mix.
Advise on the potential benefits/uses of automation to improve the efficiency of administrative support or program operations.
Evaluate and advise on the organization, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support systems such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation.

5 years of work experience with TPM, CMMS systems, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
3 years of work experience with creating, implementing, and working within a strong preventative maintenance program.

Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.
Machine aptitude and a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
High sense of urgency and ability to work self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with an ability to manage throughput, prioritize work and minimize production downtime.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite and comfortable learning new technology and programs, with strong analytical skills.
Nonessential skills and experience: Advanced degree in Maintenance, leadership, or a related field Knowledge of the print and packaging industry Work Environment: Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments.
Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, team members, and managers.
Required Work Schedule: Typically works standard business hours.
May have to occasionally flex working hours to address a specific business need.
