Position Summary: As part of the Trane WorkSight Team, this virtual/remote WorkSight Application Developer will partner with business Product Owners, Product Analysts, Platform Architects, Quality Assurance Analysts, Back-office functional teams, and program sponsors to analyze, define, and implement applications to drive transformation for our users.
WorkSight provides selling tools, product selection tools, data maintenance tools, HVAC project management tools and other tools that help users manage the full life cycle of business opportunities from business lead all the way through project execution and closure for our Trane Commercial HVAC Americas SBU.
Our tools are transforming into a modern web based, mobile platform to satisfy the needs of our mobile sales force and Trane customers.
This individual will provide IT expertise to regularly deliver functionality to the users.

Learn more about our benefits here! Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added): Provide application enhancements, maintenance, and support for assigned systems, including security and accessibility.
Partner with business users to evaluate, select, and implement vendor software.
Partner with business users to understand business processes and requirements, translate them into application requirements, and develop and implement system solutions that improve efficiencies, maximize customer experience, and grow and retain business.
Work closely with other developers, Product Analysts, Platform Architects, QA Analysts and Product Owners to develop tested solutions with best practices and approved design patterns.
Ensure on time, on budget, and on specification delivery of software solutions.
Actively monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall system capacity.
Define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
Act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems.
Communicate with business users within all levels of the organization.
Provide 2nd level support/technical expertise to help desk support personnel.
Work with geographically distributed team members, users, and customers.
Interface with external vendor support service groups.
Manage projects through all phases of project management methodology.
Limited overnight travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and at least an IT Internship is required.
- OR – Associate’s Degree in Computer Science will be considered with at least 2 years of IT work experience required.
Key Competencies: Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language is required (C#/TypeScript is preferred).
Knowledge of ASP.
NET or other web development is required (familiarity & use of a microservice architecture is preferred).
SQL experience is required (Oracle preferred) Time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills are required.
A high-level of professionalism is required for working remotely – including timely attendance and participation in internal meetings and consistent availability during core business hours.
Ability to translate business needs into system requirements.
Working understanding of software development process is required.
Must be self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team based situations.
Very good written and oral communication skills with good interpersonal skills, able to express concepts and ideas with clarity.
Able to work on multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize tasks.
Experience with .
NET C#, Typescript/Angular, C++, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, MongoDB, XML, Nintex and web services is a plus.
Project management skills are a plus.
Annual Compensation Range is $58,000 to $123,000 annually.
