This faculty position entails serving as a dynamic librarian liaison, actively engaging with academic departments to support research and curriculum needs, while also delivering effective teaching and information literacy instruction to empower students in their academic pursuits.
Key responsibilities include: Digital Experience and Website Coordination: Coordinate the library’s online web presence, ensuring alignment with the library’s mission and the university’s instructional programs.
Lead the Web/UX Workgroup to optimize the design of the library’s website and enhance the accessibility of e-resources for the Winona State community.
Coordinate the integration of the library’s discovery layer (Primo), online resources in Alma, and e-resources to enhance user experience.
Oversee the integration of Springshare tools into the library’s web presence.
Librarian Liaisons at Krueger Library Develop and deliver library instruction sessions for assigned liaison departments.
Serve as a member of the Reference/Research Help Team, providing reference services both in person and online to assist users with their research needs.
Contribute to collection development efforts for liaison disciplines, ensuring that library resources align with the needs of the university’s academic programs.
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of library field.
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance the library and teaching abilities.
Contribute to student growth and development.
Provide service to the university and community including the program, the Library, the university, and the greater community.
Support Winona State University’s mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS or MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution (by August 2024).
Familiarity with digital experience and user experience technologies and trends.
Experience or course work for technology integration to enhance learning and teaching.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Academic library experience Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
Knowledge of or experience with Integrated Library Systems (ALMA or other ILS), Springshare, and discovery layers.
Experience with HTML/CSS and Web content management systems.
Familiarity with usability studies, user interface (UI) design, and user experience (UX) design.
Experience or course work with providing reference and instruction services.
Experience or course work with collection development and liaison services.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
