The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that would include, but are not limited to: HERS 204 – Person and Community Health HERS 205 – Nutrition for Lifetime Wellness HERS 205 – Labs associated with Nutrition for Lifetime Wellness Advanced nutrition courses such as Global Foods, Community Nutrition and/or Lifespan Nutrition Faculty led travel study Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
Support Winona State University’s mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
Assist in the continued development of a nutrition focused curriculum for the Public Health-Nutrition (PUNU) major and Nutrition minor.
Support undergraduate students through advising students enrolled in the PUNU major and Nutrition minor.
Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Masters’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or similar degree.
Registered and/or Licensed Dietitian.
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of nutrition and wellness at the university level.
Experience teaching both face-to-face and online delivery of content.
Experience in undergraduate advising.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
Experience demonstrating food preparation to groups/classes.
Experience developing undergraduate nutrition courses and overall program development.
Experience developing and delivering quality lab based curriculum.
Experience developing and maintaining a nutrition/community health related travel study.
Experience meeting quality standards in developing and delivering online courses (i.
e.
, Quality Matters).
Demonstrated success in grant writing, research and/or other scholarly activities.
