We are now accepting applications for a Health and Wellness Care Professional.
Summary:
Are you interested in providing care, advocacy, and treatment for all residents and day students? In this position, you will be responsible for passing scheduled and non-scheduled medications to all students, give basic first aid treatment for minor injuries, accompany residents on medical and/or dental appointments as needed, and assess the need for residents to seek emergency medical treatment.
This position will also perform other duties as assigned by the Health and Wellness Manager and Health and Wellness Care Coordinator(s).
Status Info:
This is a full-time position working 2nd shift hours.
This position works every other weekend and shared holidays.
Skills: Prefer applicants with current certification in First Aid and CPR, or willing to be certified, as well as CBRF Medication Administration or the willingness to attend this training.
Must also have strong verbal and communication skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Job Duties Include:
Administer scheduled medication and PRN's to students, and if necessary, destroy medication after each medication pass following the 5 Rights of Medication Administration (Right Person, Right Drug, Right Dose, Right Route, Right Time).
Provide First Aid in emergency situations.
Observe students in times of illnesses, consult with the Director of Health Services or outside medical professionals, and provide recommended treatment when needed.
Record pertinent medical data in Health and Wellness Daily Log, student's Medical Chart, eMAR and electronic client management system (Kaleidacare).
Education Requirements: Must be 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalency.
