Description
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 1.
0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Central High School beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.
Projected Start Date: August 27, 2024
Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required.
Multiple certifications are preferred.
Prefer applicants possessing the following qualifications:
Experience with autism and EBD programming is preferred.
Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
Experience and demonstrated skills in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students at the high school level.
Experience working with a team of regular and special educators to meet student needs.
Experience with developing behavior intervention plans.
Demonstrated skills in the use of assistive and adaptive technology to support student independence.
Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid.
Position responsibilities:
Instruction of high school level students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities including team teaching.
Management of all aspects of student program including functional behavior assessment, behavior plans, academic assessments, writing and implementing integrated IEP's, effectively consulting with staff and parents.
Ability to work as part of the IEP team to appropriately place students and monitor their progress.
Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen is required before employment.
