HP 6500 (e709n) All-In-One Printer (La Crosse)

I have an HP 6500 (e709n) All-In-One color wireless printer FOR FREE.
If you have some tech experience, this might be just the right thing for you.
I purchased this printer new several years ago and it’s been a great printer.
Unfortunately, when I replaced the four ink cartridges about two weeks ago, I received the following message across the screen, “ink cartridges are missing or are absent and they need to be replaced”.
I’ve tried everything I know trying to find a fix for the problem but to no avail.
The printer comes complete with fresh ink cartridges (red, blue, yellow, and black) plus another new package of the four cartridges still unopened.
