00 Become part of our fast paced Legal Department and receive hands-on work experience by supporting our Legal Team.
This position provides administrative and office support to multiple coworkers in the form of telephone, clerical and research assistance; preparation of reports; and drafting of correspondence and documents.
The position is also responsible for retail and production licensing, corporate registrations and providing support to coworkers, customers and vendors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide administrative assistance to legal, real estate and retail coworkers.
Draft reports, correspondence and legal documents for various departments.
Research legal issues, government code, legislation, etc.
Administer corporate, retail and production registrations and licensing in a timely manner.
Field incoming calls to determine whether further action is required; if necessary, follow up with appropriate parties and authorities; verbally relay or correspond appropriate response.
Track vendor contracts and advise as to what further action is required; communicate to appropriate department coworkers; facilitate the drafting of various other agreements and ensure that they are fully executed.
Qualifications: Must be actively working towards obtaining a 2 or 4 year degree in a related field.
Prior experience in a business environment as well as knowledge of legal, real estate or retail operations helpful.
Skilled in interpersonal, organization, communication (written and verbal) and critical thinking in order to effectively communicate with coworkers, government agencies, vendors and customers.
Ability to work with internal and external parties to coordinate the registrations of retail, corporate and production permits in order for business entities to operate legally.
Ability to research various issues via federal, state and municipal code, the internet, Westlaw, court cases and news media in response to coworker requests and matters that arise.
Proficient in keyboarding skills to produce reports, correspondence and documents in an efficient and accurate manner.
Familiar with various computer applications in order to track, communicate and perform job duties.
Knowledge of spelling and grammar to create high-quality correspondence, reports and documents.
Ability to review and interpret government code and court cases.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and continually changing priorities in order to provide support to coworkers and meet job responsibilities.
Ability to set priorities and meet specific timelines to ensure that critical deadlines are met.
Work Schedule: This is a paid internship.
Hours may vary with workload, but interested students must be willing to work up to 20 hours per week Monday through Friday.
It is important to note that we offer flexibility with school scheduling.
