The goal of the Safety and Compliance Officer (SCO) is to establish a safe and compliant workplace according to OSHA, FDA and other federal and state regulatory agency standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible individual who is knowledgeable of OSHA regulations.
The role will be largely focused on prevention so the candidate will be conscientious and farsighted.
The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented and ready to act in emergencies.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
· Support the development of OSHA policies and programs.
· Work closely with department and branch managers to comply with OSHA standards.
· Review current safety training policies and update as required by law.
· Oversee all safety training for the entire company: OSHA training, new hire training, GMP training and any other safety training.
· Conduct regular safety audits and inspections for safety violations.
· Assist in development and implementation of emergency response plans, conduct regular drills as necessary.
· Lead safety committee, conduct bi-monthly meetings.
· Update safety and health manual to remain compliant.
*Education & Experience Requirements:*
· BS degree preferable, but related work experience will be considered
· Minimum of five years’ experience in a safety related role
*Knowledge Requirements:*
· Detail oriented with skills in planning, organizing, training, problem solving and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft platforms, and effective and professional communication skills with personnel at all levels.

· Outstanding communications skills
· Strong organizational skills
· Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management
· Ability to develop written policies and procedures
· Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage a large number of different projects to completion
