Finance Supervisor

Job Summary Directed and supervised by the Controller, the Finance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance team and assisting in the accuracy of all financial reporting.
With support of the Controller, this role will be developing and implementing financial policies and procedures that enhance the efficacy of the department.
Essential Functions • Administratively supervise all finance staff: assigning tasks, providing guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and providing training/development opportunities.
• Prepare journal entries and review account balances for accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Review and update pricing of time studies.
• Process price changes for raw materials and finished goods.
• Prepare bank statement reconciliations.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Calculate and file monthly sales taxes.
• Prepare reports for final review for Controller and other Directors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement approved solutions efficiently.
• Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the coordination and preparation of materials for audits by external auditors.
• Assist in the collection of aged accounts receivables.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and other relevant regulations.
• Accepts other duties as assigned, including special projects and ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications • Associate Degree in Accounting or similar field, or have commensurate experience.
• 5+ years of experience in finance-related roles.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• Experience meeting IRS reporting requirements.
• Proficient in accounting/finance systems and software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
• Innovative and insightful problem-solver.
