Position Summary:
The Business Banking Specialist Supervisor leads, coordinates, and supervises the operational elements of the Business Banking Department’s loan origination and servicing process.
Provides expertise and leadership to the business banking specialist function.
Assembles business loan files, uploads loans into computer system, and finalizes loan closings.
Processes payments and advances, maintains and updates collateral tracking, prepares client correspondence, and assists clients with inquiries and problem resolution.
Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Essential Functions: Originate and Process Loan Documentation 60% Prepares & orders all necessary loan documentation Assembles & scans commercial loan files Uploads new loans, renewals, extension, modifications and participations into core system Processes and posts in-house and participation payments and advances; prepares wire requests Completes loan maintenance and loan read-back Updates collateral tracking and exception reporting Monitors insurance documentation and UCC filings Prepares and sends “paid-off loan” correspondence and documentation Closes and organizes loan files Coordinates and oversees the ordering and receipt of commercial appraisals and 3rd party valuations Provides service in person, on the telephone, and through e-mail Supervises Business Banking Specialists 25% Develops and monitors work plans that align with the Bank’s strategic goals Provides leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to support individual and team performance Manages and assigns area workload Ensures accuracy, efficiency and quality of work in area adheres to the banks service standards and is completed according to legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements Identifies training needs and coordinates training with Senior Lending Manager Develops onboarding plan, assigns and participates in the training of new coworkers Shared Oversight of Technology and Systems within the Business Banking Department 5% Works with Supervisor to analyze department needs Identifies, researches and makes recommendations on technologies and systems Initiates, leads and participates in the implementation of systems, processes and procedures relative to the Specialist function Maintain in good standing existing technologies and systems Additional Duties and Responsibilities 10% Assists with and compiles audit information Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required Other job duties as assigned necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position Requirements: Work Relationships and Scope: Regular contact with clients and co-workers.
Provides leadership to the Business Banking team by demonstrating effective problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, coaching and communicating on a daily basis, setting a positive example for team members.
Works with highly confidential business and client information.
Occasionally participates in bank committees and events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis in business coursework required, Associate’s Degree with accounting or business emphasis preferred.
A minimum of 3+ years of customer service or administrative experience within the banking industry required.
Must possess courteous and professional customer service attitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential client and Bank information.
Maintain strong knowledge and serve as a technical resource for our primary Loan Operating System (LOS) and related software.
Must possess computer function, typing and data entry skills; strong organization and follow-up skills; basic mathematical skills up to and including fractions; legible handwriting.
Must possess ability to deal effectively with time pressures and stress that can change hourly depending on level of client activity; effective problem solving and research skills.
Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in an office environment with minimal chance for personal injury.
Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage required.
Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel (air or auto) is required for business and education.
Regular use of telephone.
Frequent repetitive use of keyboard for approximately 6 hours per day.
Frequent repetitive fingering of documents.
Requires ability to receive and provide detailed information through verbal and written communication.
Requires near and mid-range vision.
Will alternate sitting, standing, and walking throughout work shift.
Bend, kneel, turn, lift and carry up to 20 pounds of documents and office supplies.
Climb stairs.
Occasional exposure to significant work pace.
Work is performed generally during regular business hours with minimal expectation of overtime.
Equipment Used: Operates personal computer in a Windows environment for word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet, and other bank specific software.
Operates core systems on Silverlake.
Utilizes a variety of office equipment including computer printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, and multi-line telephone.
