Human Resources Manager Job Summary
Come and work as a Human Resources Manager for a leading edge national brand in the service industry! This position is a salaried /exempt position based on a 45-hour work week.
A company car is provided for required travel and working hours may vary.
A typical work week is Monday-Friday.
This is a key restaurant support position and requires the ability to effectively work with a variety of Supervisors and Restaurant Managers across restaurant locations.
This position is based within our office location in Onalaska, WI.
Human Resources Manager Essential Functions and Job Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelors or Associates Degree with coursework in human resources, business, or related field
Prior experience in a human resources role; including recruitment, employee relations and employee engagement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel functions and formulas, and PowerPoint
Ability to navigate a variety of human resources related issues using problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Exceptional organizational skills
Self-motivated individual who goes the extra mile to accomplish goals and can multi-task
Strong people skills and customer service skills
Trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information
The ability to work well in a team environment, share ideas and problem solve
Valid drivers license
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
This position is a Human Resources Generalist position with a great deal of variety in job duties day to day.
This position reports to the Human Resources Director.
Assist restaurants in hiring new employees by screening applications, scheduling and completing interviews, checking backgrounds and references, and conducting new hire onboarding
Identify possible areas to increase job application flow and recruitment of new employees.
This may include attending career fairs held at various community locations and on-site recruitment within the restaurants.
Conduct employee engagement sessions and administration of annual restaurant commitment surveys
Provide leadership in human resources issues by understanding labor and employment laws, minor labor laws, as well as general human resources policies and best practices
Administer disciplinary action for employees as needed which may include issuing written warnings, termination documents, and performance-improvement plans
Consult with employment law attorneys with the assistance in disciplinary action as needed
Manage and update company handbooks, policies, and various human resources communication pieces
Audit and maintain employee personnel folders
Assist with the administration of health insurance benefits, leaves of absence, and Unemployment Insurance, Workers Compensation insurance, and workplace safety programs
Complete written wage and employment verification requests and verbal verifications over the phone
Establish strong relationships as a representative of the McDonalds brand within the communities we serve
Participate in various public events which may include presentations or meetings with local high schools, colleges, civic groups, and community organizations
Restaurant involvement to support operations
Develop and manage various employee retention programs
