Summary: This individual is responsible for all decision making within the department such as the creation of policies, procedures and adherence to budget.
They are responsible for tracking labor cost, supply and equipment costs and customer service levels.
They should maintain appropriate staffing levels based on seasonal demands.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items.

Responsible for the oversight of the Waterpark Department.
Responsible for recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.
Responsible for ensuring that Waterpark staff receives appropriate training and development.
Build a cohesive management team through effective communication of department goals and policies and conducting leadership meetings on a regular basis.
Daily monitor of equipment, Waterpark cleanliness and water chemistry
Participates in the leadership management of hotel as a department head attending weekly staff meetings and supporting fellow managers.
Develop, coordinate, facilitate and implement hotel seasonal and holiday themes.
Oversee the group program to exceed public expectations and be a source of revenue for the company.
Oversee the School Program to ensure that it is successful by proper communication with schools, providing an entertaining activity program and timely payment of reimbursements to the schools.
Actively participate in the hotel marketing and promote programs through public relations.
Responsible for meeting budgetary goals of department including Waterpark and arcade by monitoring all expenditures and cost of execution of duties.
Promote, train, and practice safety standards at all times.
Participate in community related services or events.
Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Waterpark Manager has supervisory responsibility for the Waterpark Supervisors, Lead Lifeguard(s), Lifeguards, as well as potential for Kids Club Attendants.
He/she will supervise up to 40 employees.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
Degree in Recreational field or equivalent experience required.
Experience directing special events and aquatic programs preferred.
Basic knowledge of pool maintenance operations preferred.
Intermediate use of Microsoft software programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Driver’s license preferred.
CPR/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer certification.
Shallow Water Lifeguard certification.
AED and Oxygen Administration certification
Additional skills and abilities:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to handle guest complaints with a satisfying outcome for the hotel and guest.
Strong leadership skills with ability to instruct, direct and motivate staff.
