Directed and supervised by the Program Manager, the Residential Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of their assigned home and the Residential Assistants within that home.
The Residential Supervisor will also be responsible for the financial management of all resident accounts within the home.
The Residential Supervisor will be responsible for all resident medical appointments within the home.
The Residential Supervisor ensures that required documentations are in place, coordinates activities and ensures a safe and clean home environment.
Essential Functions
1.
Supervises and ensure implementation of the Individual Support Plan for each resident.
Promote independence through ongoing training of daily living skills.
2.
Coordinates the admission of new residents, in conjunction with the Program Manager.
3.
Provides ongoing case management for all residents residing in the home.
4.
Directly supervise and schedule the Residential Assistants assigned in the home and ensure that employees are providing services according to the expectations of VARC.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude with employees to promote a positive work environment.
5.
Ensures compliance with licensing requirements.
6.
Monitors and ensure proper medication storage in the home for both prescribed and PRN (as needed) and OTC (over the counter) medications.
Maintain the First Aid supply in the home.
7.
Reviews at least weekly and ensure proper documentation for all required documents including Daily Notes, Medication Administration Records, Medical Appointment Sheets, Financial Sheets, Urine/BM Tracking Reports, etc.
8.
Addresses any deficiencies or issues with employees and documents staff development efforts and forward to Supervisor.
9.
Maintains accurate and timely records of all required safety drills such as Fire Drills, Emergency Weather Drills, and ensure proper filing at the home, as required.
10.
Files all documentation as instructed by supervisor.
Maintain resident charts in a clean and organized manner.
11.
Maintains the inventory of resident belongings and provide written documentation of such items to supervisor on at least an annual basis, or as inventory is added or removed from the resident’s possession.
12.
Prepares and submit any required documentation of training to supervisor for review and submission to Human Resources.
13.
Submits Maintenance Request forms to supervisor as needed for identified home repairs or safety concerns related to the home.
14.
Prepares menus according to the specified dietary requirements of all residents.
Ensure that food purchases are in compliance with dietary requirements.
15.
Attends Service Review meetings as requested and communicate resident successes, barriers, and requirements as identified in their home.
16.
Maintains ongoing professional and positive communication with all co-workers, residents and their family members, guardians, and all agency stakeholders.
Project and maintain a positive image of the agency in the community and to the residents.
17.
Utilizes agency resources in a manner that helps reduce costs, including monitoring of fuel costs, employee activity costs, and all other costs.
18.
Follows all VARC policies and procedures and ensure all employees under your supervision follow all VARC policies and procedures.
19.
Accepts other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Associates Degree preferred with one year experience in the field of disabilities.
Individuals with extensive experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Preference will be given to individuals that have residential and supervisory experience.
Individual must have a valid driver’s license and test negative for TB.
Job Type: Full-time
