Viterbo University invites applications for a Library Circulation Manager.
The Circulation Manager position reports to the Director of the Library for the Todd Wehr Memorial Library.
The Circulation Manager is a dependable presence in the library and for the campus, providing and ensuring efficient, customer-focused circulation and interlibrary loan services at the library's Main Desk that reflect Viterbo University values of hospitality and service.
This role is responsible for supervising two circulation employees and several student workers.
This is a full-time, administrative position with a Monday-Friday daytime schedule that participates in library staff meetings as well as employee assembly and potential campus committees.
The Circulation Manager is a full-time, 12-month, Exempt, salary position eligible for employee benefits.
This position has a start date on or after July 15, 2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service Maintains a friendly, welcoming atmosphere conducive to research and study with a goal of supporting teaching, learning, and student success Ensures a consistent level of coverage and services at the Main Desk, communicating when additional support is necessary Provides customer service at the Main Desk and, on occasion, works an evening or weekend if needed Refers reference inquires to librarians Management and Interlibrary Loan Leads interlibrary loan services using OCLC's WMS and Tipasa platforms Communicates with libraries and handles interlibrary loan invoices Develops circulation procedures and policies, and analyzes circulation and survey data to respond to campus needs Manages aspects of the library's physical space including shifting collections and placing work orders Gathers statistics and prepares department's annual report Supervision Trains, supervises, and evaluates circulation employees Manages circulation staff projects such as material donations, inventory, the space use survey, and other duties Oversees hiring and scheduling of circulation student employees and assists with training, project management, and supervision Other Participates in library and campus-wide committees and meetings Performs other duties as assigned General Requirements/Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree; a minimum of two years of direct supervision; substantial experience working in a library setting; experience with interlibrary loan; reliability; strong communication and customer service skills; proficiency in Microsoft products and skills with troubleshooting technology; ability to work both independently and collegially; detail-oriented.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
