The School District of Arcadia is seeking an individual to serve students and staff as the Middle School and High School Dean of Students and the District Athletic Director.
The ideal candidate will have experience with successfully organizing and managing students in school and extracurricular settings.
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of student behaviors and attendance and will be responsible for the organization and oversight of the middle school and high school athletic programs.
The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate how they have had success growing students academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally.
In addition, the ideal candidate must have a solid, working understanding of athletics and athletic programming, and will have been a leader in athletics as demonstrated through coaching and/or other athletic department leadership responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively with school administration regarding student attendance tracking and policy enforcement.
* Student behavior management and discipline.
* Work with teachers on classroom management issues.
* Implement, evaluate, and revise systems that promote student, staff, and building safety.
* Assist with supervision during breakfast, lunch, before school, after school, and during passing times.
* Periodically assist with supervision of concerts, dances, etc.
* Manage the middle school and high school athletic programs.
* Develop athletic schedules.
* Hire game officials and contest workers.
* Attend and supervise athletic contests.
* Oversee the athletic department budget.
* Implement the Athletic Code as it applies to discipline and attendance-related concerns.
* Support programs and processes that promote the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Requirements, Experience, and Skills:
* At least three years of successful teaching experience.
* Experience as an athletic coach at the middle and/or high school level.
* Previous experiences in leadership positions in the educational and/or athletic environment.
* Preferred but not required:
* Experience working with EL students and family populations
* Understanding of Infinite Campus Student Management System
* Understanding of Educlimber
* Understanding of rSchool athletic management system
Other Information:
* Flexibility with days worked during the contract year will be essential, including working Saturdays when athletic events are scheduled.
* The person holding this position will not be allowed to coach a sport at any level.
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70,000.
