Senior Accountant
SUMMARY:
Incumbent has a considerable level of diverse responsibilities.
Main function is to provide support to the Controller and other members of the accounting team with day to day operations.
Responsibilities will include maintaining daily general ledger activity, assisting with accounts payable and receivable duties, and providing support to accounting personnel.
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail.

Accountant Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Assist in preparing and adjusting annual budgets and projections
Prepare monthly budget to actual reports with explanation of variances
Prepare monthly trend analysis
Manages processes, utilizing financial software, developing standards, audits, accounting/corporate finance, tracking budget expenses, budget and forecasting development, analyzing information and performance management
Backup to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable specialist
Maintain working knowledge of GAAP compliance
Other projects assigned by the Controller

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 7 years experience in Accounting/Finance
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
Onsite requirements:
20 Days a year onsite at Sheboygan corporate office for quality and annual audit support.
Vista Care would cover the travel and hotel costs while working onsite.
