POSITION OVERVIEW: The Plant Manager role owns the P&L for the facility.
Formulates plans and directs those departments responsible for the safety, quality, planning, manufacture and delivery of product at the plant level.
Must exceed customer's requirements for quality, delivery and the company's requirement to improve profitability and foster growth.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for full P&L of facility and operations
Responsible for all plant operational KPI’s and executing strategic and tactical plans to improve.
Safety – Injury rate, etc.
Quality – Customer Quality, etc.
Delivery – On Time Delivery, Past Due, etc.
Cost – Product cost, managed expense control, working capital management.
People – Attrition, Absenteeism, etc.
Lead and develop the Plant Operations Team/Staff including responsibility for:
Environmental Health and Safety of all team members
Product Quality and Quality Systems
Nelson Excellence Systems (NES) / Lean manufacturing principles
Manufacturing Operations
Cost Reduction via our Value Creation Pillars (VCP)
Materials Management – Sales, Inventory, Operations planning (SIOP)
Manufacturing Engineering
Maintenance
Finance
Human Resources – Staffing, Training, Team Member development; Employee Engagement
Lead plant financial forecasting process including but not limited to S&OP, labor planning, managed expense planning, inventory
Collaborate and partner with other NGP Plant managers on items such as material acquisition, labor utilization, supply agreements, etc.
Partner with sales/commercial organization to ensure alignment between sales pipeline/strategy and manufacturing capacity/utilization.
Participate in long-term planning activities, such as AOP planning & staff/headcount utilization to achieve business objectives (safety, quality, delivery, financials, etc.
) and targets.
Manage and develop Plant Management staff
Actively promote Right Environment, employee morale and productivity
Actively coordinate and lead continuous improvement initiatives as part of Nelson Excellence System (NES), using Lean Manufacturing principles/practices and 6-Sigma methodologies.
Ensure plant certification of appropriate standards, such as ISO, IATF, etc.
Provide leadership in new product launch activities at the plant
Other projects and duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS.
) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Considerable knowledge of all Plant functions
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
