General Information:
Job title: Financial Counselor
Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday - Friday
Weekend rotation: No weekends
Holiday rotation: Paid Holidays Off
Position Summary:
The Financial Counselor position gathers and updates billing information to submit claims to the nursing home residents' insurance companies and updates and monitors private pay resident accounts.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitor and collect financial billing information for submitting claims and submitting financial statements for private pay residents.
Submit claims to insurance companies for monthly services.
Update financial spreadsheets to monitor correct pay source and cost reports.
Check resident accounts for correct pay source and payments from pay sources.
Post payments to residents' accounts and statements and check for accuracy.
Post pharmacy charges on accounts for claims billing.
Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates Degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
2+ years of related work experience preferred.
Experience with insurance billing preferred.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
Experience with insurance billing preferred.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
