Black River Memorial Hospital has immediate openings for a Registered Nurse in the OB Department.
This position plans and provides comprehensive patient care.
It manages available nursing resources and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.
This position is required to float to other nursing departments as necessary, to meet patient care needs.
This position is:
Full-time, 72-hours per pay period, night shift with various days of the week including every third weekend and holiday rotation, benefited
Essential Duties Include:
Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
Anticipates changes in patient care needs.
Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and take appropriate action according to established standards.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge and demonstrates competence with required registered nurse competencies.
Has thorough knowledge of the various kinds of medications administered.
Assess labor progression, and manages induction of labor and cervical ripening.
Performs fetal heart monitoring, and neonatal assessments.
Recognize and manages neonatal sepsis.
Competently manages obstetric medical emergencies (prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, placental abruption)
Educational Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
ACLS certification within 1 year of hire
NRP certification within 6 months of hire
Current licensed Wisconsin RN
Electronic Fetal monitor Certification with 2 years of hire
OB experience preferred
