Job Description: Human Resources Generalist
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the HR Department, including hiring, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, training and development, performance management, and MOSA’s company policies and practices.
The HR Generalist will assist the HR Director in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the HR department.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Conducts background and reference checks and employee eligibility verifications
Works with department directors to create recruitment strategies for open positions
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Processes biweekly payroll and maintains payroll deductions for all staff
Acts as a liaison between MOSA and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
Processes monthly employee credit card reconciliation including the collection of receipts and approvals, and ensures all expenses are recorded correctly in liaison with budget lines
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in a professional manner
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, etc.
Gathers employee data for large projects as needed
Assist the HR Director with the implementation of training and development and performance management programs
Assists the HR Director with the overall management of the HRIS system
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as directed
Provides administrative support to the HR Director as needed
Other Duties:
Serves on the HR Working Group during special projects as needed
Maintains a comprehensive understanding of MOSA’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual, and MOSA’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Attends meetings, trainings, and continuing education as directed
Undertakes any other tasks and responsibilities as required by the HR Director
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum education or training: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
Three or more years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar HR position
Thorough knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and regulations, including Multi-State compliance
Previous experience with FMLA administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Previous experience with Payroll Administration and Payroll software
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn MOSA’s HR information systems (BambooHR)
