*Reports To*:ReStore Director *Direct Reports*:ReStore Assistants, Donation Driver, Volunteers *Workdays*:Tuesday through Saturday *Summary*: The Habitat ReStore is a division of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region.
The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support HFHGLR’s mission.
Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items, and increases Habitat’s visibility in our community.
The ReStore Manager is responsible for overall management of the ReStore’s day-to-day operations, playing an active role in planning for the ReStore’s future.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: Sales and Operations * Run the operation with the recognition that the ReStore is often one’s first impression of Habitat for Humanity, offering excellent customer service and treating all persons with dignity and respect.
* Provide leadership, training, and development to direct reports and volunteers in sales, customer service, merchandise receiving, pricing, and product placement.
* Facilitate daily cash transactions, deposits, and change orders.
* Provide accurate accounting records of revenues and expenses.
* Approve direct reports timesheets, expenses, invoices, and requests for time off.
* Ensure the store is adequately staffed with employees and volunteers, and work with Volunteer Coordinator to maintain proper staffing of store.
* Ensure safety training is completed, enforce safety standards, and comply with accident procedures.
* Facilitate inventory counts as needed.
* Ensure monthly expenditures are within budget, request exceptions for increases.
Staff and Volunteer Management * Implement personnel policies approved by the board of directors.
* Hire, train and manage ReStore staff, Donation driver, and volunteers in accordance with personnel policies as detailed in Habitat for Humanity’s Employee Handbook, and ensure staff is well versed about Habitat’s program and local activities.
* Facilitate a positive, team-oriented environment.
* Plan and facilitate quarterly volunteer training with the Volunteer Coordinator.
* Ensure all volunteer hours and updates are entered into Giveffect.
* Evaluate staff performance in accordance with job descriptions and performance evaluation procedures, issue raises within approved budget, and where necessary, recommend the termination of paid staff.
Reporting and Communications * Schedule, create agenda, and facilitate ReStore staff meetings once a month.
* Attend all Habitat staff meetings once a month.
* Keep ReStore Director informed of staff, volunteer, operational, and financial matters.
Policy and Planning * Recommend policy for sales, staffing, and salvage.
* Monitor competitive merchandise market environment (pricing and practices).
* Participate in the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives.
* Attend Habitat conferences to gain experience and learn from other ReStores and affiliates.
Required Skills / Experience / Physical Requirements * Self-motivation.
* Ability to lead, train, and manage staff and volunteers in a positive manner.
* Knowledge of sales, marketing, and construction materials.
* Effective time management and organizational skills.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities.
* Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching, in awkward and tiring positions.
* Ability to pass forklift training course.
*Work Environment* Works in a retail store and warehouse environment even during inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
Noise level will be loud at times.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35,000.
00 - $50,000.
