Viterbo University seeks qualified candidates to recruit and enroll a diverse group of motivated undergraduate students through the role of Admission Counselor.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic goal-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to provide courteous and accurate customer service to all students, visitors, and the campus community.
This staff member will have travel and outreach responsibilities with community groups, college fairs, pre-college groups, high schools and alumni events.
General responsibilities:
Identify students in the assigned territory who may be a fit for the University and engage them in the admissions process through a systematic effort of personal contact (including phone, email, text and letter).
Manage enrollment funnel in the assigned territory by moving students from inquiry to applicant to admitted student to deposited student to enrollment.
Provide proactive, thorough and timely information to students about the admission process, financial aid process, academic program, and student experience.
Work with the rest of the admissions staff to develop the annual recruitment plan.
including the annual calendar of admissions events, and implement activities and events as assigned.
Assess the effectiveness of various recruitment tactics and initiate new activities and programs to support the achievement of the office and individual enrollment goals.
Maintain accurate, up to date files on prospective students through the CRM with strong attention to detail.
Cultivate relationships with high school counselors, teachers and administrators, and with students and their families through college fairs, high school visits, and on-going personal communication.
Conduct engaging and effective campus visits for individuals and groups.
Assist with day to day operations of the Office of Admission as needed and participation in University committees, meetings and events.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree required with experience related to the coordination of marketing projects, public presentations and/or the management of events.
Experience working in higher education student services, experience with high school students or closely related area preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills.
Possession of a valid driver's license, with the expectation of regular travel particularly during the fall and spring recruiting season.
Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings required.
This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative position.
