Finishing Department

*_Job Description:_* Operates one (1) or more types of chipping, grinding and cutting equipment in removing undesirable projections or surplus metal (fins, burrs, gates and risers) from sand castings.
*_Essential Functions:_* Ø Operate band saw, abrasive saw, sand grinder, belt grinder and portable pneumatic grinding tools Ø Use of a variety of hand tools including hammers, cold chisels and files Ø May also require the operation and/or loading of the blast cleaning machine Ø Report production quantities and items for each work order Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned *_Skills or Experience Required:_* High School diploma or GED; experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment is preferred.
*_Other Position Demands or Requirements:_* Math, some computer and communication skills are necessary.
Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical work includes: (The work is classified as Medium Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept.
of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles).
