General Summary:
Come and join our team in this newly created Quality Manager role.
This is your opportunity to expand your quality management skills and make your mark with Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Responsible for overseeing quality assurance, quality control, and inspection of production manufacturing operations in our La Crosse WI factory.
Determine production standards for the company’s products by establishing quality control systems and setting product requirement rules.
Help create solutions as part of the engineering team.
Work to find defects, determine the cause of those defects, and provide solutions to defected problems.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Own the Quality Process.
Establish and maintain a Quality system that follows ISO-9000 structure.
Create a thorough data collection and analysis process to prioritize focus areas.
Create a process to capture all voice of the Customer feedback and make necessary improvements.
Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System.
Initiate and execute a Net Promoter Score or similar formal customer feedback process.
Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards.
Implement process checks and visual standards to ensure “Critical to Quality” compliance at each step or handoff in the process.
Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate final products – especially products with packaged refrigeration.
Inspection and auditing of all components and individual processes at all stages of manufacturing – from design through final test & checkout.
Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to assembly of product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems.
Work with the factory, quality, and operations staff to identify and implement product related designs and assembly techniques that improve quality and production efficiencies.
Support plant improvement initiatives using manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping to improve productivity.
Analyze information, give advice, and provide technical guidance to other parts of the organization.
Training production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
Manage other quality employees as required.
Other related duties as needed.
Requirements:
Requirements
BS in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering required.
Prior experience as a quality manager or quality engineer in a production processing environment is preferred.
3-4 years’ experience with mechanical applications and testing, or equivalent is preferred.
2-3 years’ in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge or experience of air handling equipment and/or refrigeration a plus.
Knowledge or experience with data analysis and technical problem solving
Broad knowledge of applied Engineering principles in electrical, mechanical and materials disciplines.
Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
High level of analytical ability required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
Ability to travel independently.
Travel is infrequent and less than 10%
