Job Summary Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc.
is seeking an innovative, highly motivated, results driven and LEAN focused Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, reporting to a Focus Factory Manager.
This Manufacturing Engineer role is an opportunity to accelerate manufacturing leadership development in a dynamic and metrics/results driven technological manufacturing organization.
The Manufacturing Engineer performs a variety of engineering work in the planning, design and development of new products, tools, machines, and manufacturing processes.
Working with other engineering disciplines in the development and sustaining process ensure continuous improvement in Productivity and Quality.
The Manufacturing Engineer provides production support through the resolution of equipment related issues, and through training of end-user personnel.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Responsible for collecting and reviewing production data from production cells to ensure implemented process improvements are sustained Identify and support production quality processes and procedures to increase production throughput and eliminate impact to the customer Participate, lead and facilitate kaizen events to improve internal LEAN manufacturing (ABS) processes to increase production's efficiency and quality Train production operators on lean principles and manufacturing processes to increase production's efficiency and quality Lean Cell Design Work with Cross-Functional teams in the planning and designing of new products.
To ensure new products are designed for manufacturability Research and review industry trends and technological advancements for products and processes.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required 3-4 years of experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
Engineering Technology Degrees are also preferred Experience and Foundational Knowledge of Lean Principles.
