VCI is currently seeking an onsite, full-time Construction Technician/Inspector to join our team at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin.
This Construction Technician/Inspector will assist the VA Engineering Staff and VCI’s Construction Managers (CMs) in the implementation of the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Program.
This includes monitoring the construction contractor's work effort for compliance with project contract requirements on a non-personal services basis.
Required Responsibilities include:
* Assists the Engineer Staff VCI Construction Managers on daily/weekly project tasks.
* Generates and binds reports.
* Must be able to execute assignments of a complex nature with guidance from other members of the project team.
* Must possess working knowledge of reporting tools and software for the purpose of presenting plans, concepts, strategies, and theories to clients in an efficient manner.
* Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
Education and Qualifications:
* The Construction Technician/Inspector shall possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and five years of professional experience in construction industry.
* Educational requirement may be substituted by ten (10) years of directly related experience.
* Shall possess a working knowledge of construction practices and call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance, Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management.
* They shall be familiar with the site operations of a General Contractor and Sub-contractors and the process of managing a building construction/renovation operation.
* Must have working experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance.
* Shall have experience in preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and efficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the construction documents.
* In addition, they shall understand the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of the acceptable work in place.
* Must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products and compile data and records by applying both knowledge of the construction industry and computer literacy.
* Work experience and completed projects shall be identified in the credentials of the individual to show competency to undertake a rigorous program in construction in all identified task order scope of work required solicitation.
* Shall present three projects of the scale and difficulty at which he/she held a similar position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.
