POSITION OVERVIEW: The team lead is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and production goals of the department are met, while providing a supportive team atmosphere and working cross functionally with managers, supervisors, leads of other departments.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensuring safety of the department; training new employees, promoting the safety alert program, entering safety alerts, and following up on safety concerns to resolution.
Assist the supervisor with daily resource balancing and staffing.
Responsible for setting up work cells and signing off on 1st piece inspection.
Maintain adequate and orderly inventory, as well as ensuring materials and tooling are brought and stocked on the line.
Promote safety, quality, productivity, and a positive environment for employees.
Promote employee satisfaction and encourage all employees to excel.
Responsible for recording metrics and maintaining metric boards.
Complete timely and accurate paperwork.
Entering maintenance work orders.
Responsible for establishing daily production goals and execution of schedules.
Work on-line and fill in for resource gaps as needed.
Supporting CI/Lean Initiatives (5S).
Must have ability to gain and retain fork lift certification.
Promoting quality that meets and exceeds customer expectations.
First Aid/CPR Recommended.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Previous supervisory or Lead experience preferred.
1 year of manufacturing or production experience is preferred.
Ability to pass a weld certification test.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Have a positive attitude and act professionally.
Comfortable working in a group and individual setting.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to problem solve and resolve issues.
Possess the ability to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds.
Possess the ability to stand, bend, reach and walk for at least 10 hours.
