POSITION OVERVIEW: The welder is responsible for ensuring quality standards are being met while always upholding safety principles and guidelines.
The welder will be cross trained in other areas and departments and may be asked to assist production when needed to meet customer needs and demands.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The welder will assemble parts to complete units and component parts in a specialized area.
The welder must possess the ability to perform all of the following processes: fixture weld inner assemblies, insulation wrapping, auto-welder operations, final welding product, end of cell checking fixtures, and air testing.
The welder will set up and operate assigned machines to produce finished product in a final assembly, as well as perform a variety of specialized assembly operations such as jigging, air testing, v-bands and component parts.
Experience: The welder must pass a weld skills test.
The welder will bring with them the abilities to accurately read and understand blueprints, utilize measuring devices such measuring tape, calipers, and pi tape.
The welder must possess the ability to operate hand tools and power tools as well as other equipment within the department.
The ideal candidate for a welder at Nelson Global must possess a positive attitude, have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
You must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot issues, be comfortable working in a group and individual setting, and possess the ability to lift, push, pull 25 pounds, stand, bend, reach and walk for up to 10 hours.
