Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join our team at our fast-paced copacking facility.
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity within the facility across multiple departments.
This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the desire to coach teams to success.
Duties and Responsibilities Safety Management: Develop and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve safety measures Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to customer specifications Implement and monitor quality control metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and corrective actions Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to develop and enhance quality standards and procedures Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality requirements Efficiency and Productivity Optimization: Develop strategies to optimize production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards Analyze production data and implement measures to improve productivity, such as workflow enhancements, equipment upgrades, or process redesigns Streamline operations by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production flow Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the operations team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement Set performance objectives and expectations, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to employees Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the operations team Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to safety, quality, and operations Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and environmental regulations Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a packaging or manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of safety protocols, quality control processes, and production management techniques Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing teams Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
