Bostrack Heating & Cooling HVAC Technician Job Description Bostrack Heating and Cooling is looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC Service and Installation Technician to install, maintain and repair HVAC systems.
The HVAC Service and Installation Technicians will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems.
You will guide and advise the customer to select the most appropriate air quality system to fulfill their requirements.
You will be responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty, and emergency repairs.
To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety and comfort should be your top priority.
Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
Job Summary The HVAC Service and Installation Technician will install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
HVAC Service and Installation Technician Responsibilities: * Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
* Installing ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC systems.
* Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
* Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
* Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
* Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
* Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
* Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
* Ensuring compliance with equipment safety standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
* Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
* Assisting with customers' questions.
Preferred Skills/Abilities: * Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
* Working knowledge of boiler systems.
* Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
* Ability to braise and solder.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
* Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
* Ability to work in confined spaces.
* Listening: It's important that you fully understand what customers are telling you about their problems so you can solve them.
* Speaking: You must be able to articulate and clearly share information with your coworkers and customers.
* Time management: Meeting the demands of a busy schedule means managing your time well.
* Critical thinking: This will allow you to weigh various solutions to a problem and choose the best one.
* Physical strength and dexterity: You should be able to lift up to 200 pounds and be able to carry and maneuver heavier items, either with help or appropriate devices.
* You will be required to stand, walk, sit, use your hands and fingers, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to perform your job.
* Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements: * High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.
* Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship preferred.
* 5+ years experience as an HVAC technician preferred, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
* *Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
* Work Environment Most work environments can include schools, hospitals, business sites, offices, homes, and sometimes multiple locations in the same day.
You might be assigned to an ongoing job site or make service calls to various locations daily.
Most work takes place indoors, but this job can also involve outdoor tasks, sometimes in inclement weather.
Employee will be expected to work in possible environments of extreme cold and extreme heat based on the time of year, weather, and work location.
Work Schedule Job is full-time 7:00 a.
m.
to 3:30 p.
m.
Monday through Friday.
Overtime may be required during busy times of the year, such as in the dead of winter or at the peak of summer.
Working evenings, weekends, and holidays can be required in emergency situations, if a customer needs immediate assistance.
It is possible there will be on-call emergency service time.
There can be rare occasions when you may need to adjust the schedule to accommodate a client needs and schedule which could require nights and or weekends to complete work.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.
00 - $38.
