Position Overview:
The Environmental Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards at 20-25 redi-mix & aggregate locations.
The Environmental Health and Safety Officer is a full-time position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the Safety Director, and has no supervisory responsibility.
This position will be based out of La Crosse, WI, and will assist in covering our Eastern Territory including Iowa, Minnesota, & Wisconsin.

General Duties and Functions:
Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects

Essential Duties and Functions:
Ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety standards promulgated by local, state, federal, and environmental agencies through the development of on-site assessments and monitoring programs.
Including but not limited to inspections, permitting, & reporting.
Perform and coordinate company and federally regulated drug testing
Provide employees with the knowledge and resources necessary for environmental health and safety awareness by coordinating continued educational classes
Complete new hire orientation, drug testing, and assist with arranging post-offer pre-work screens
Perform investigations of environmental health and safety incidents to assist with the development of employee injury and accident prevention programs, monitor program effectiveness, and make program adjustments as necessary
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations, procedures, and implementing environmental health and safety procedures
Develop, implement, and enforce environmental health and safety protocols through proper documentation
Skills in performing on-site environmental health and safety inspections by ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, local state, and federal standards, and environmental agencies
Operation of windows-based computers and related company equipment
Work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Maintain and communicate Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) results to the field and leadership team
Position Requirements:
Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work background check and drug test
Must have a valid driver’s license and will travel to numerous facilities
OSHA, MSHA, and DOT knowledge, and experience
Knowledge of environmental compliance with Iowa, Minnesota, & Wisconsin DNR is preferred
Experience in construction and manufacturing industries
Public speaking and communicating
Microsoft Office skills
Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills
Familiar with Federal Motor Carrier regulations

Benefit Offering:
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000(Based on experience, location, etc.
